Smriti: A Solo Traveler

Smriti: A Solo Traveler

We all have our moments in life when we feel defeated and just want to give up. Smriti is no exception. We all know her as Travellingboots, but if there is one person who has tuned in to her mind and soul, that would be Smriti. Today we see her as this Solo Woman Travel Blogger, travelling the world and living a free-spirited life. But this wasn't always the case. It was only after a series of accidents that left her body and mind with alot of trauma, did Smriti decide to travel in order to heal her mind, soul and gain confidence in her body once again. Through her blog Travellingboots.in we see her sharing her travel stories, her learnings and her thoughts. Read on below, to find out how Smriti starts her day through her Morning Routine!

How and Why did you start Blogging?

I had been travelling solo since I was in University and would always come back with incredible stories of my interactions with people. But it was only in 2014 when I quit work and traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast in America that my friends insisted that I penned down my stories on a blog… and hence it began.

Blogging is my full time profession; however prior to blogging I was an International Training Consultant and worked in India, England, Australia and UAE

What is Travelling Boots all about?

Travelling Boots is not just a list of places to see and things to do; it is just an account of what I did, what I ate, experienced, who I met and most importantly what I felt then and my after thoughts. Each experience has the potential for you to expose yourself to another way of life or thinking; a change. I share my process on Travelling Boots.

What's Your Morning Routine?

8:30 – 9:00 AM. I usually work late so with no pressure of office hours I do get up pretty late I instantly have a bottle of water while checking the updates on my phone in bed.

9:30 AM. After catching up on my Social Media and headline, I cook myself some tea and rub my face with ice as I turn on the music to wake up all my senses. Ice helps tighten pores and has been very effective for me.

10:30 AM. Having suffered damage to my body, I do insist on everyone to take care of their bodies. It is all we truly possess. Everything around you; including your job, relations, confidence is based on a working body. I spend the next hour on scrubbing my face (every third day) with Thank You Farmer Back to Iceland Peeling Cream; followed by their Cleansing Foam. I follow this with a gentle massage of the Oxymax Fortifying Vitamin Booster Serum. I use Thank You Farmer’s CC cream as a base if I am going for any meetings.

My night rituals are equally important. I end the night with Mi Rebotica’s Gelled Rosehip Oil and their Eye Contour Cream.
